DIGITAL: Understanding your organization’s cybersecurity risk when using third-party service providers

May 28 @ 10:00 am

Organizations are increasingly relying on complicated supply chains to provide critical technology-related services and functions and threat actors are taking advantage of this trend. Over 50% of organizational cyber attacks and data breaches result from third party engagement. Organizations of all sizes and in all sectors need to recognize this vulnerability and proactively address it in order to avoid reputational, financial, and regulatory risks as well as operational impacts resulting from potential cyber attacks and data breaches.

In this 60-minute session, the discussion will include:

  • the evolving threat landscape, the National Cyber Threat Assessment 2023-2024, and real-world examples when engaging third parties
  • proposed legislative changes and what to be thinking about
  • building out your organizational third-party risk management (TPRM) program to focus on cyber supply chain risks
  • an overview of the Supply Chain Integrity Program and available resources from the Canadian Centre for Cybersecurity (Cyber Centre)
